I know several of you have seen the youtube vidoes of the flash mobs dancing and some chorus mobs. There are two coming up! One is this coming saturday the 15th at 7pm at Boise Town Square. Several of us are already going to the event that was created on facebook, so you should be able to find the event pretty easily.

The next flash mob chorus is on Sat. Dec 22nd at 1pm....this is the one that I will be doing the starting solo!!! (insert huge lump in my throat and knot in my stomach). It will be so fun to participate in this kind of event! Please join us, we'd love to have a great showing of our fellow Musettes :)

If anyone has any questions about these events, please comment or email me at ginacakes06@yahoo.com

Have a wonderful Christmas everyone! I so very much appreciate and love all of you!

I need a ride Wednesday

Please call or text me at (208) 697-1825

THANK YOU!

Directions to Riverside Hotel/Farm Bureau Convention

After rehearsal today, I drove down to the Riverside Hotel so that I could make sure my directions were correct.  If you follow these directions with exactness, you will not get lost.  If for some reason you do get turned around, I will try to keep my cell phone handy so that you can call me at 880-6446 for directions.  We don't want any of you wandering around Boise in the cold!

Take the freeway toward Boise and get onto 184 (connector) headed toward City Center.  Take Exit #3  Franklin Road and stay in the farthest Left lane (the sign above the lane will read 20/26 Toward Garden City and the Fairgrounds).  After you go through that light, turn Left onto Garden Street BUT quickly get into the Right lane to go straight at the light and cross the intersection of Main Street.  The road will turn to the Left in front of Joe's Crab Shack and the Riverside Hotel is just next door.

To get home, turn Left out of the hotel parking lot.  Turn Right at the light onto Main Street BUT quickly get to the far Left lane which will join up with the connector.

More Help Needed

Lots of things are happening right now.  Please just jump in and help out.

We are in need of trailers to move all of our staging stuff from storage and back.  We will need to load up on Wednesday evening and return it Saturday after concert.  We could also use whatever muscle that could show up and help.

We also need banquet tables for the dressing room.  Does anyone have some that they are willing to bring on Thursday night and leave until Saturday?  If you have a mirror, it would be helpful if you would bring that also.

Thanks for pitching in everyone!

Lisa
OOps, I forgot the word "with" in my last post. Can another figure out where is might be?
love you all
Susan

It is wonderful to sing you ladies. Thank you for being my friends

Singing for my Ward - Nampa 26th Ward

Hey sisters, I just wanted to talk a bit about singing in my Ward on December 9th.  We discussed possibly doing Candlelight Carol instead of Oh Holy Night.  I would REALLY like to do Oh Holy Night if I can get any of you who will do it.  I'm willing to take just 1 on each part if necessary.  I will settle for Candlelight Carol if I have to (and don't get me wrong, its a lovely song and one of my favorites) but Oh Holy Night is SOOOOOOOOO powerful and meaningful not to mention that its my FAVE Christmas song EVER!  This arrangement is simply incredible and I'd love to bring the spirit of this song into my Ward that Sunday.

So, here's the deal.  If I can get some of you to agree to sing it with me it's really the one I'd like, but if not I still REALLY want us to sing for my Ward and we can do Candlelight. So, I would like any of you that are interested and would be able to sing to please respond to this post and tell me whether you prefer one over the other or are willing to do either one.  I will update you all as to which one we're doing.

My Ward meets at 9:00a.m. at the Roosevelt Building just West of Middleton.

Thanks so much for putting up with me.  I love you all dearly!

Prepare to look your best on stage!!

Hey Ladies,
The concert is getting very close and it is time to start thinking about some of the details. Please over this and make sure you are prepared to look your best on the stage!
Black underthings. Occasionally under the lights, white can show thru a tiny bit. Go be measured for the right size bra. It is amazing what a correct fit will do. You will have to go to a place such as Macy's, Victoria Secrets or JCPenney to get measured properly by a staff person. They can also suggest what type of bra would fit best. You don't have to get a super expensive bra. But do get measured and try one or two on so that you know how it should feel and fit.
Jet black socks. We usually get L'eggs and Just My Size for uniformity.
Shoes- black dress with a strap. 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 inch heels are preferred. No patent leather. have to be pretty strict with the gals. No backless shoes. For the singouts it doesn't matter as much as long as they are dress shoes. Please get these checked off with Dausha, Emily Luva, or Lisa.
Shell shirt with 3/4 length sleeve. A full length sleeve can be cut shorter. But no sleeves shorter than over-elbow length. Last year there were several choices at Walmart. So they are not hard to find.

By now everyone should have their black pants.

Makeup- We will be wearing bright reds for costumes. So choose carefully what makeup will go with that. It needs to be very bold. Musettes has some makeup available. As far as eye shadow goes, gold or white would be great. We will talk more in rehearal about what colors would look best. NO BLUE EYESHADOW PLEASE!

Remember to stand tall, like if there were a string attached to the top of your head pulling you up straight. Keep your "headlights" forward. Yes that does mean flaunt it just a little. This is the time for it. lol. Smile. A lot of mistakes are covered by a great smile. When we are not singing between songs, keep your attention focused on Lydia or straight forward. We want to look professional.

We will have more details about jewelery, and the make up schedule posted to the blog within the next few days so please check it often.

Can't wait to perform will all of you! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!
Love,
Emily

Sunshine news

Good morning ladies! I was recently asked to head up the sunshine comittee :) I'm so excited and nervous at the same time. It's getting close to our first concert and still loads of things to be done. I would like to get the thank you cards and gifts together before Thanksgiving if possible. If you have a list of names for thank you cards and gifts, please email them to me at ginacakes06@yahoo.com   I am super new to all of this, so if you could maybe let me know what people need the cards and what one need a gift, that would help me so much! Thank you for all you do and how you make everyone feel so loved and welcome! It is such a blessing to be a part of this amazing group of ladies :)

Sing Out Choreo Practice

First, I want to thank all of you who were at the Sunnyridge Assisted Living sing out Thursday.  It was wonderful to see so many of you there with your beautiful smiles and angelic voices.  Every time I watch you ladies perform it gets better and better.  A BIG shout out to the sopranos :  you gals rock!!...your blend was beautiful, it sounded like one voice. The choreo was precise and awesome!  Thank you all for being there.

Second, I apologize that I overslept and wasn't at the choreo practice this morning.  I texted a few and asked if thy were there but didn't get any  reply and I didn't have Katie H cell number.  Again, I'm very sorry for missing the choreo practice.

This week, please review your music, especially Mr Santa, Snow Snow, O Holy Night, 12 Days After Christmas, Over the Rainbow, Stuck Like Glue, and God Bless America ( Chalese, I'm sorry I forgot to get you a copy).  In addition to that please take the time and review the choreography.  Drink lots of water, stay healthy, do the bubbles warm up  and have a wonderful week.

Love,
Lydia

Musette History

Hey, Ladies -  I have been busy working on the history scrapbook for 52 years worth of Musettes.
Thanks to Helen Tiegs and Mary Jane I was able to fill in the years before I joined in 1991
but I am missing information for the following concerts:

Spring, 2000   (I went to England/Wales with my sisters and mother)

Christmas, 2000

Spring 2009   ( my neice's wedding)

Christmas 2010  ( 2nd honeymoon with my hubby)

If anyone could loan me anything from those dates such as programs, pictures, newspaper articles, etc.  I would appreciate it.   I am really into the swing of it right now so the quicker the better before I start another project!!!   Thanks!!!!!!!

Chance to help homeless

I know this might not be specifically "Musettes" material, but know what a caring and awesome group of ladies this is :)

Hello Everyone,
I work part time at the Nampa Public Library and have met an individual who was formerly homeless and has now started a mission to help others who are in the situation he was once in.  He was featured in the Press Tribune several weeks ago and the link is below.  He also has a facebook page under todayshope.  If you would like to help his cause, please let me know and I will deliver the items to him.  He is looking for the following items:
deoderant (mens)
socks
stocking caps
gloves
cough drops
toothbrush
combs

Thanks so much!  I have seen him hand kits out to the homeless people at the library and it is inspiring :)

Former Musette Jolene Emery has a pair of pants she would like to sell.  I am not sure what size they are, but I will find out.  Probably about 18-22.  Does any of you newer gals still need pants?  They are in Provo. But I can have them here by Thanksgiving at the latest.
If anyone on costumes is counting, she also has her white singout shirt, her sparkle dress and her red jacket available.
Luva

glitter hairspray

Now's a good time to stock up on glitter hairspray on sale at Wal-Mart for $1.12.  I bought some gold and silver today.  :))))
Does everyone know how to share the concert event Lynette posted on facebook?  I know there is the option to invite members of the Musettes Fan Club, but you can also share the event as many times as you would like with everyone on your facebook by clicking on the little round gear looking thingy and then clicking share event.  Why not do this once a day?? :))  Word of mouth is our best advertising, so email and facebook away my dears!! :))

Help Wanted for Spring Concert

I may be jumping the gun a little bit but if I don't do it now, I may forget about it later.  We need someone who is savvy making videos and/or powerpoint slide shows.  Our spring concert is about a family traveling around the country.  I would like a video showing different parts of the country throughout the concert.  I also need our "family" photo-shopped into some famous landmarks.  Please let me know if you or a family member would like to do this.

Thanks!

Lisa

Production Schedule

November 8th is fast approaching!  What?  You don't know what is the significance of November 8th?  Well, if you don't know, then you haven't been reading my e-mails.  Shame on you!  Who wouldn't want to read my epistles?

November 8th is the deadline I set to have all production items done.  How are you doing on meeting that date?  Does anyone need help?  We need updates from everyone  even if you have talked to me.  I would like the entire group to know what is happening.

Lisa
